Summer 2020 Registration

All summer 2020 semester classes will be offered in an online format. Courses are offered in three instructional types: synchronous, asynchronous, and blended. Please see the UIW definition of each below.

Synchronous Course

Instructor and students meet online during assigned class times. Course delivery is a combination of live lecture and individual assignments, with indicated deadlines.

See schedule in Banner for class meeting days and times.

Asynchronous Course

Instructor and students do not meet during assigned class times. Instructor provides comprehensive weekly schedule and deadlines, with routine feedback.

Class meeting days and times not indicated in Banner schedule.

Blended Course

A combination of synchronous and asynchronous course. Instructor and students meet periodically during the assigned class times. Instructor will inform students of required meeting times on first day of class.

See schedule in Banner for class meeting days and times.

Prior to registering for any summer term, be sure to review these definitions carefully, as well as the instructional method field on the schedule. Consult with your advisor, if additional clarification is needed.

Summer and Fall 2020 In-Person Registration

Due to current campus closures, please note the revised process for in-person registration and resolving barriers to registration:

  • Students may begin contacting the Registrar's Office on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., for assistance with registration requiring processing by Registrar's Office staff.
  • In-person registration is available for issues that cannot otherwise be resolved for registration online.
  • For processing purposes, registration forms should be submitted to registrar@uiwtx.eduKeep in mind that all applicable signatures (or supporting e-mails) must be present for processing to be completed.  A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you.
  • Continue to resolve any Business Office or other holds unrelated to the Registrar's Office, to proceed with registration online. This includes academic holds/errors, such as pre-requisites, co-requisites, and course enrollment overloads, which can be resolved through the appropriate dean's office.
