Message from Neil Schroeder

I'm delighted to welcome you to UIW’s Innovation and Technology (IT) digital home. As the Chief Information Officer (CIO), it's an honor to lead a team committed to delivering innovative, high-quality IT services and resources for all members of our university community.

Our organization is built on the understanding that technology is an integral part of the educational experience, driving not just the dissemination of knowledge, but also the creation of it. From providing network infrastructure and academic software, enabling and enhancing business processes to managing data and ensuring cybersecurity, our IT department is instrumental in enhancing the teaching, research, and service missions of UIW.

We are committed to cultivating a technology-rich environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive. This commitment is reflected in our efforts to provide a robust and secure technology infrastructure, support educational technology tools, manage university data and systems, and foster innovation through strategic IT initiatives.

Please explore our website to learn more about our services, search for relevant help, view projects and initiatives, and keep up with technology incidents and maintenance. If you need assistance, the Help Desk is ready to provide support and you can even launch a support session via chat right from the web page.

Technology is more than just a tool — it's an opportunity to innovate, to facilitate learning and discovery, and to connect people and ideas. At the heart of this, it's all about you, the students, faculty, and staff who make our university a vibrant place of learning, creativity, and advancement.  We will always strive to work together with the community to imagine and create the future!

I encourage open communication and am always eager to hear from students, faculty, and staff. If you have ideas, questions, or concerns about the university's IT initiatives please feel free to reach out via email at nschroed@uiwtx.edu or if you would like call 210-805-2300.

Regards,

Neil Schroeder
