New Freshman: Congratulations on Your Acceptance to UIW!

Welcome to UIW, Cardinals! The University Advising Center (UAC) is excited to welcome you to our vibrant community. We're looking forward to meeting you at New Student Orientation and helping you chart your course for academic success.

To ensure a smooth start to your college journey, we've prepared a pre-orientation checklist:

Before New Student Orientation (at least 1 week prior):

1. Complete the Advising & Scheduling Questionnaire (ASQ): This questionnaire provides your advisor with crucial information about your academic goals and interests, which helps us to create an accurate and efficient schedule for your first semester. 2. Submit Official Transcripts, Dual Credit, & Test Scores: To help ensure accurate course scheduling, please submit these documents to the Admissions Office. Click this link for video instructions on How to Submit Your Final Documents.
3. Gather Key Documents: Bring copies of your transcripts, test scores, and any dual credit information to your orientation session for reference.  
4. Watch Your Cardinal Inbox: Your UAC Advisor will be sending you a welcome email soon!  Click this link to access your Cardinal email. (Note:  If you need help with accessing your Cardinal email, please contact the IT Helpdesk at (210) 829-2721.) 

Schedule Questions: If you have questions or concerns about your initial schedule, don’t worry! UAC advisors will review and address scheduling concerns during your orientation session. We’re here to help you build the best academic plan possible.  Just be sure to follow the steps starting with completing the ASQ!  (Note: New Freshmen are manually registered by their program advisor and do not have a registration PIN.)

Transfer, Transient and Non-Degree Seeking Cardinals: Your Journey to Success at UIW Begins Here!

Welcome to the University of the Incarnate Word! We're thrilled to have you join our Cardinal family. To ensure a smooth transition, please complete the following steps before your advising/registration appointment:

• New Transfer Students: After completing the required steps listed below, contact the University Advising Center at (210) 805-5814 or advising@uiwtx.edu to schedule an appointment for advising and registration prior to your orientation date. • Transient and Non-Degree Seeking Students: After completing the required steps listed below, contact the University Advising Center at (210) 805-5814 or advising@uiwtx.edu to schedule an appointment for registration.  

(Note: New students are manually registered by their program advisor and do not have a registration PIN.) 

Steps To Complete Prior to Appointment

To ensure a seamless start, please complete these steps prior to your advising or registration appointment:

1. Complete Application: Apply to UIW
2. Confirm Your Enrollment: Confirmation/Matriculation Processing Fee
3. Submit Proof of Meningitis Vaccination (PDF format) to the Office of the Registrar at registrar@uiwtx.edu
4. Submit Official Transcript(s) to:
   • Office of Admissions

   • admissiondocs@uiwtx.edu 

Departmental Approval for Specific Majors

If your major is listed below, please contact your department for enrollment confirmation prior to your orientation or advising/registration appointment. Use the links provided below to access the department's contact information and discuss program requirements.
