All Soul's Day Mass
The community is invited to a special All Souls' Day Mass on Sunday Nov. 2, at 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. in Our Lady's Chapel. The "ofrenda" (a traditional table of remembrance), provided by Dr. Sally Said's class, will be blessed in front of the chapel at both Masses. The "ofrenda" will remain outside Our Lady's Chapel for most of November. Hot chocolate and pan de muerto (traditional Day of the Dead bread) will be served after the evening Mass. "Remembering All Saints and All Souls," A Prayer Service
Bring a picture, a symbol, or simply a memory of someone who has died and join the Arts for Christian Worship Class for prayer and “Pan de Muerto” on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 5-5:30 p.m. in Our Lady's Chapel. Like Christians through the ages, there will be art, drama, scripture and song exploring the “Dance of Death” and the promise of resurrection. The event is free and open to the public. The Hesburgh Lecture Series Visits UIW
The UIW community is invited to attend the sixth annual Hesburgh Lecture Series on Thursday, Nov. 6, 7-9 p.m. in Mabee Library Auditorium. This year's speaker is University of Notre Dame Professor of Economics Dr. Richard Jensen, who will present "A History of Financial Crises." HR presents Cardinal Talent!
HR is excited to announce the new online application system, Cardinal Talent! Cardinal Talent went live Wednesday, Oct. 22. Access to PeopleAdmin will still be available to view applicants that have applied to current vacant positions. Below are training dates and working sessions for the new system.

Construction Area Danger
The UIW community is asked to observe posted warning signs surrounding the Fine Arts construction site. There have been instances of people walking through the gated barricades. Please note, there are dangerous working conditions and heavy equipment being used, therefore only authorized personnel should be present within the fenced area. Thank you for your cooperation.

Balance and stretching activities improve physical stability and flexibility, which can lower your risk of injuries. Examples include gentle stretching, dancing, yoga, martial arts, and t'ai chi.
Wellness Center Orientation
The UIW Wellness Center will host an orientation session on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 6:45 a.m. where it will introduce faculty and staff to the basics of the facility including weight machines, free weights, treadmills, elliptical trainers and other cardio equipment. Use of the center is free to UIW, IWHS and SACHS faculty and staff with valid UIW, IWHS or SACHS ID. Kimberly Lee-Layton Dissertation Defense
Kimberly Lee-Layton will hold a public defense of her dissertation on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1 p.m. in Mabee Library Special Collections Room. The title of her dissertation is "Correlating Employee Involvement, Coworker Relations, and Leadership With Associate Commitment in Select Health Care Companies Using a Mixed Sequential Explanatory Design."
