The reception featured guest speaker, Peter French, co-founder of FreeFlow Research. Scenes From Auntie Mame
This delightful comedy is performed in the style of a radio show and tells the story of orphaned Patrick Dennis growing up under the care and influence of his gloriously unconventional aunt, Mame Dennis. Directed by Extended Run Player, Anne Collins, assisted by Barbara Simpson with Courtney Rohmer serving as Stage Manager, the production includes the appearances by three UIW theatre majors, one of whom plays the young Patrick Dennis. Another student will play Mame's Japanese butler, Ito, and a third student will perform the role of Michael Dennis, the son of the adult Patrick. Lila Jean Potts plays Mame, and Joe DeMott plays the adult Patrick. Other cast members are members of the Extended Run Players, many of who have appeared in other productions on and off campus.

The Big Give S.A.
Help support UIW and our Marching Cardinals by participating in The Big Give S.A. on Tuesday, May 5. The goal of the Big Give S.A. is to introduce our community to all of the wonderful charitable organizations located in South Central Texas. May 5 has been designated as the city's Giving Holiday. Our UIW Marching Cardinals have received new band uniforms, and our goal is to continue their momentum through your generosity and support. 2015 Corporate Cup
UIW will host the citywide San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup on Saturday, May 30 from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the UIW Athletic Complex. Companies from all over San Antonio will compete in field day type activities for points and prizes. UIW is in the large company category against groups such as H-E-B, USAA, Rackspace and more. This year there is an online registration form to be a part of TEAM UIW. Visit http://uiw.edu/teamuiw/ to select which activities you would be interested in participating or sign-up to volunteer during tailgate. You will be notified which activities you will be competing in closer to the event by the Team UIW Corporate Cup Committee, as there are limited spots for each. Each UIW employee who participates will receive a free t-shirt! Families are encouraged to attend and support but are not eligible to participate EXCEPT for a 2k Healthy Walk. As part of this competition, UIW can earn points for collecting items for the charity challenge. TEAM UIW has selected to focus on donations for Haven for Hope. Haven for Hope is collecting the following new items ONLY in all sizes: packages of socks, packages of underwear, cotton sports or regular bras and packages of white cotton t-shirts. On Tuesday, April 28, this semester's Senior Salute event was held in the Rosenberg Sky Room. Graduates were able to pick up their caps and gowns as well as enjoy some snacks and come together to celebrate the end of a chapter in their lives. EAP Faculty Attends iPad Workshop
Three members of the EAP faculty attended an iPad workshop at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida this past week. Dr. Alan Xenakis, EAP professor of health sciences, Dr. Diana Garza-Ortiz, EAP assistant professor of business, and Juan Gonzalez, EAP instructor of psychology, joined others to learn about how Lynn incorporates iPads into their teachings. At the end of the workshop, they left with iPad minis and good ideas for how to use them in their classes.

Benefits Open Enrollment
Benefits open enrollment runs until Friday, May 8. Aetna is now administrating the health and dental plans and Metlife is providing our vision insurance. Everyone must enroll or waive benefits this year through Banner Self-Service via the myWord portal. Human Resources will be available in the Library's Computer Lab, Room 230 from 9 - 11 a.m. and 1 - 3 p.m. on Monday, May 4, Wednesday, May 6 and Friday, May 8 to assist with the online open enrollment. Faculty Focus
Hosting of Candidates for Vice President for Information Resources
On the following days, the candidates for vice president of information resources are scheduled to meet with deans and faculty at 12:45 p.m. in the Mabee Library Special Collections Room. The candidates will then meet with the administrators and staff at 2 p.m. in the Mabee Library Auditorium. These two sessions are open for anyone to attend, particularly those who have scheduling conflicts with their designated group's time.

Summer Training Call for Proposals
Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit a proposal for either of our two summer institutes at the UIW Campus. Proposals will be accepted now through Monday, May 25.

This is your opportunity to take your course from a repository for your syllabus and PowerPoint presentations to an integrated, interactive, and engaging course. This two-week seminar will include instruction in: pedagogy, course organization and design, assessment, assignments, the grade center and other beneficial topics. Upon successful completion of the course, UIW faculty will receive a $500.00 technology stipend. Stipends are only available for full time UIW faculty. Jackets and Jewels Brunch
Come joins the St. Anthony Catholic High School Alumni Relations Association Sunday, May 3 from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. for the annual Jackets and Jewels Brunch. This year's brunch will be held at Casa Rio located at 430 E. Commerce St. on the Riverwalk. This is the yearly celebration of all the wonderful women who make St. Anthony Catholic High School so special. Alumni, current Lady Jackets and their female family members are all welcome to join us for this memorable event.
