4th Annual Interfaith Conference

The Día de los Muertos Mass is at 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, in Our Lady's Chapel. Bereavement Notice
Rev. John (Jack) O'Donoghue, former Incarnate Word College campus minister/chaplain passed away on October 14, after a brief illness. Fr. Jack's service to the Incarnate Word community began in 1970. He left IWC for parish work in the early 1990's. Ordained in 1964, Fr. Jack was a beloved member of the community and served in various capacities throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio, most recently at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements: Oct. 24, viewing 4 p.m. and rosary 7 p.m. The Mass of Transition will be held on Oct. 25, at 10 a.m., with Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, presiding. All services are at Blessed Sacrament (600 Oblate Dr.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Scholarship Fund.

Incarnate Word High School Athletic Director April Fricke embarked on a historic ride for a good cause. Fricke rode her bike 250 miles along the same route the first three Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word traveled in 1869, from Freeport to San Antonio. She arrived back in San Antonio at Incarnate Word High School Thursday, Oct. 20. A Guided Celtic Walk to Thin Places in The Headwaters
Join the Headwaters at Incarnate Word for a guided Celtic walk through the Headwaters Sanctuary from 9 - 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 29. The Celtic tradition has always honored "thin places" as places where heaven and earth were closely connected. This walk will offer quiet meditations that will reflect the Celtic vision that enables us to see "thin places" of healing and mystery right before our eyes. Religious Studies Professor Sylvia Maddox will lead the retreat. She is the co-author of "Praying with The Celtic Saints." This program is limited to 14.
