Informal Conversation Series with Catholic University Presidents
Acting UIW President Dr. Denise Doyle invites you to the last in a series of informal conversations with presidents of Catholic universities and organizations. They will share their insights and take questions from our community on the role of a president of a Catholic university. The final speaker will be Dr. Michael Galligan-Stierle, who has served as president of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) since 2010. Based in Washington, D.C., the ACCU represents more than 90 percent of the accredited Catholic universities in the U.S. plus another two dozen international universities. Dr. Galligan-Stierle has a doctoral degree in Sacred Scripture from St. Mary's Ecumenical Institute. His presentation will start at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 9 in the Seddon Recital Hall. The UIW Department of Theatre Arts presents Tom Stoppard's Arcadia. Britain's wittiest playwright collidesthe world of Jane Austen with today's cut-throat academicians. 2017 uiw rso optometry students win

The UIW Pre-Optometry Professional Society (POPS) team won the 2017 Quiz Bowl at the Texas Optometric Association (TOA) Annual Conference in Austin this past weekend. They beat out six other POPS teams representing Baylor University, Texas A&M, University of Houston, UT-Arlington, UT-Austin and UT-San Antonio. Mindfulness Groups
Counseling Services is offering a free mindfulness group from 12 - 12:30 p.m. each Friday through March 10, in the Admin. Bldg., Room 319. Attendees will learn about the benefits of mindfulness, and each week a new technique will be practiced.
