2017 july unsung hero caitlin mccamish

Meet UIW Title IX Coordinator Caitlin McCamish. Caitlin was born in Connecticut and moved to San Antonio when she was 10. She is an alumna of Incarnate Word High School. Caitlin holds a B.A. in Psychology and Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University. She will be celebrating two years with UIW this coming September. Prior to working at UIW, Caitlin worked for the San Antonio District Attorney's Office. Caitlin likes to spend time with her husband, family and her dog named Fenway. Caitlin is also a huge Boston Red Sox fan.

She is impressed with the community here at UIW and enjoys the support and camaraderie faculty, staff and employees show students to make them comfortable and welcome. If you see Caitlin on campus, be sure to stop and say hello and thank her for her hard work and all she does for UIW.

My Super Sweet 16 and Quince Training Camp
The McCombs Center Rosenberg Sky Room is hosting a My Super Sweet 16 and Quince training camp from 12 - 4 p.m., Sunday, July 16. This camp will provide information to people who are planning or looking to plan an event. Vendors will be on-site to answer questions about events, sample food, listen to music and see all the latest trends. Pre-sale tickets are $5 and $10 at the door. Shakespeare in Prague: Imagining the Bard in the Heart of Europe
The UIW Department of Art is proud to present Shakespeare in Prague: Imagining the Bard in the Heart of Europe. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, Sept. 29, in the UIW Fine Arts Center Galleries. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. First-Time Freshman Orientation

Check-in will begin in the Concert Hall. This program is designed to help students acclimate to the college environment and have a successful first-year as a Cardinal. At the request of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, at 10 a.m., Friday, July 7, UIW Police activated their police lights for one minute in honor of fallen SAPD Officer Miguel Moreno. Officers throughout Texas also showed their solidarity with Officer Moreno and the SAPD. Comptroller's Office Announcement
Effective immediately, the Comptroller's Office will be restructured to address the growing complexity of the accounting operations for the University and its related entities. Edie Cogdell, the University's Comptroller since 1999, will become the Associate Vice President for Business and Finance and Comptroller. Edie will directly supervise two Assistant Comptrollers, Elisa Gonzales (also with the University since 1999) and one who is in the process of being hired. Edie will directly oversee cash management, debt management/compliance, budget management, tax compliance, internal audit/quality control, financial systems and international operations. Elisa will supervise the business office, payroll and accounts payable operations and related cash/general ledger accounting. The new Assistant Comptroller will supervise the accounting operations for grants, gifts and other restricted accounts, endowment, athletics, professional schools/clinics, study abroad, fixed assets, leases, student organizations, and high schools. In addition, the new Assistant Comptroller will oversee external audit functions and financial reporting.

Office 365 Online Tuesdays: Microsoft Office Online
Instructional Technology hosts this session from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 via Zoom online. This session will focus on the features of the Microsoft Office Online platform. Office Online features access to both online and desktop Office applications. Participants will explore options for creating and editing collaborative documents with colleagues, share documents through the OneDrive, and learn to manage workbook data. Register here. Groups: Build a work group and share documents, folders, mail and create meetings. Groups also enjoy a shared inbox for email conversations between members, a shared calendar, and a SharePoint Team Site

2017 baller camp boys 2017 baller camp girls

Dr. Elda Martinez, director of teacher education, hosted this summer's BALLER Camp (Basketball and Life Lessons Essential to Remember) at UIW. BALLER camp is a free summer camp for incoming sixth grade boys and girls to assist in their transition to middle school. These camps were created to help kids become involved in on-campus activities and develop a support network. Coaches from SAISD middle and high schools staff the camp, which allow students to begin making those important connections. Children in the camp had a chance to meet with UIW athletes, coaches and toured the campus. First-Time Freshman Orientation Parking Information
The two parking lots in front of the Administration Building will be reserved for new students and parents attending orientation. Employees are asked to park in the Agnese-Sosa garage or behind the Barshop Natatorium on the following dates:

Banner Users Group Meeting
Enterprise Applications is hosting a Banner Users Group Meeting at 10 a.m., Friday, July 21, in the Mabee Library Auditorium. This meeting is comprised of departmental representatives appointed from each functional area that use the Banner Information System. Members of this group meet quarterly to discuss any issues reported within their departments, educate each other on Banner Functionalities and resolve any upcoming and existing issues in a collaborative manner. The SACHS Alumni Association is hosting its ninth annual Casino Night & Texas Hold'Em Tournament from 7 - 10 p.m., Saturday, July 22 in the SACHS Gymnasium. Casino Night tickets are $40 per person; food and beverage are included. Entry fee for the Texas Hold'Em Tournament is $50; seating is limited.
