Mission

Our Lady’s Chapel Services

There will be daily Mass at Our Lady’s Chapel through Friday, Dec. 20.

Sunday Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. There will be no 8 p.m. Mass.

Mass will not be held on Monday, Dec. 23. The regular Mass schedule will resume in January 2020.  

Christmas Eve Mass

A Christmas Eve Mass (Dec. 24) will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word (pre-service music beginning at 5 p.m.). This Mass will be the only liturgy celebrated on December 24 or 25. There will be no services held in Our Lady's Chapel on these days. Please note that seating is limited in this sacred space and fire code regulations must be observed when the Chapel reaches capacity. We thank you in advance for your understanding.   • Sister Loretta Liebscher and family on the recent loss of her sister, Maria Elizabeth Liebscher (BS ’43).

Community News

Fall 2019 Commencement 

UIW President Thomas M. Evans conferred degrees to over 1,000 professional, doctoral, graduate and undergraduate students at the Fall Commencement Ceremony held Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Freeman Coliseum.

The graduating Fall Class of 2019 completed 66,947 hours of community service, providing an economic impact of $1.7 million. Congratulations graduates!

Outstanding Service to International Students Award 

The International Student and Scholar Services Office presented the Outstanding Service to International Students Award to Health Services! This award was given in recognition of their outstanding customer service to international and exchange students and their commitment to go above and beyond their job to help them succeed. Rosenberg School of Optometry Angel Tree

The Rosenberg School of Optometry got in the Christmas spirit with an angel tree, featuring 100 angels.  All gifts benefited children at SAMMinistries. Thank you, RSO students, faculty and staff for keeping the true reason for the season in your hearts!

Baseball and Softball Season Memberships on Sale Now

Baseball and softball season memberships are on sale now! Come out to support our student-athletes and coaches who have been working hard to prepare for the season. UIW faculty and staff receive 50 percent off all season tickets. 

2020 Baseball Memberships

  • First home game is Feb. 14, 2020
    • Reserved Covered Seating first and third Baseline: $75 per seat for faculty/staff (regular $150)
    • Reserved Seating Grandstand Bleachers (comes with a chairback and same seat location for all home games): $40 per seat for faculty/staff (regular $80)
    • General Admission Grandstand Bleachers (no specific seat location and no chairback): $25 per seat for faculty/staff (regular $50)
  • 2020 Softball Memberships
    • First home game is Feb. 7, 2020 (H-E-B Classic Tournament featuring UIW in five home games)
    • Reserved Seating Bleachers (comes with a chairback and same seat location for all home games): $25 per seat for faculty/staff (regular $50)
    • General Admission Bleachers (no specific seat location and no chairback): $20 per seat for faculty/staff (regular $40)

The Word Today Submissions 

The Communications and Brand Marketing department has transitioned from the Request for Event Promotion form. The 25Live system will now be used to request services such as event promotion, photography requests, and inclusion in The Word Today, and event publishing to the UIW main events calendar and the UIW internal calendar. Please click here to see the instruction document on how to post 25Live events to the web calendar and request services from Communications and Brand Marketing. Cardinals' Cupboard: Donations Needed

Any UIW student, staff or faculty member is welcome to the Cardinals' Cupboard Food Pantry located at Joeris Hall on the UIW Broadway Campus. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Did you know 25% of children identified as food insecure in San Antonio and Texas is ranked #2 in the nation for food insecurity? Help us make a difference by making a donation to the Cardinals' Cupboard!
