The Office of New Student Programs is dedicated to promoting the success of new students by enhancing student engagement on campus. We are available to assist students in locating UIW resources that will lead to their academic success. New students learn to understand “you own your education,” which introduces self-responsibility and an awareness of the path to success!

Looking for a safe space to hang out between classes, heat up your lunch, or work on a project? Visit The Landing, a student lounge designed to allow you to relax in between classes and meet with your New Student Programs Peer Mentor! We have snacks, a microwave, coffee, board games and workshops! 

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Need a quiet place to study or attend an online class? The NSP Student Study Hall has you covered! Enjoy individual desks for added privacy, with convenient connections for your technology. Stop by anytime and make the most of your study time!

Hours: Sunday - Saturday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.

NSP Monthly Events

New Student Programs will be hosting the following events in The Landing (SEC 2063). Stop by and join in on the fun!

• Sept. 15 - Oct. 15, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Hispanic Heritage Month. Stop by and celebrate your Hispanic Heritage by signing your name on a flag that represents a Hispanic country.
• Wednesday, Sept. 30, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., September Wrap Up. Let us know what you've learned in your first full month of college. Then grab a snack and take a breather. 

Fall Checklist

Fall 2026 classes are in session! Follow these steps for a smooth semester.

Pay Your Tuition: Don’t let a Business Office hold prevent you from registering for Spring 2027 courses. Stay on track with your payment schedule by contacting the UIW Business Office for assistance with paying tuition and fees or setting up a payment plan.

Submit your final transcripts: Have your official high school transcript and any dual credit transcripts submitted to UIW by October 30 to avoid any registration holds.

Advising: Stay in contact with your academic advisor to discuss any changes to your degree plan before Spring 2027 registration opens.

Important Fall Dates: 

• October 2: Early Alert grades are posted. This is a great opportunity to evaluate your academic standing and make any changes to ensure a successful semester.
• October 15 - 16: Fall Break. No classes! The Landing will be closed.
• November 18: Spring 2027 Registration Opens. View the Registration Schedule to see when you can register.
• November 25 - 27: Thanksgiving Break. No classes! The Landing will be closed.
• December 7 - 11: Final Exams. View the schedule and don't miss an exam!
