Cheerleaders
The UIW Cheerleaders perform at many home athletics events, including football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and other special events, such as pep rallies.
The UIW Cheerleaders practice three-to-four times a week, including technique, skill-training, and weight training. The squad also practices year-round for NCA National Competition in April.
Often, the UIW Cheerleaders are asked to meet-and-greet guests at events, attend community appearance events, and other marketing initiatives that expand the UIW brand.
The squad size will vary each year depending on the specific needs of the team; but it's estimated that the squad-size will be between 16-26 for the 2021-2022 season. Tryouts are held in May and via video (if eligible). For more information please contact us at UIWSpiritCheer@gmail.com
UIW Cheer Team Appearance
Please fill out our online form to request an appearance of the UIW Cheer team. The request must be submitted two weeks in advance. The head coach will email you within 24-72 hours letting you know that the appearance is accepted.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for members of the UIW Cheerleaders. In the 2021-2022 season $750 per semester will be awarded to members.
