Mission Statement

Tutoring Services supports UIW undergraduate students by providing tutoring in course content and effective learning strategies. Our programs foster students’ academic growth in a welcoming environment.

What We Do

Learn in community with us! We offer support for undergraduate courses that we know many students take and find challenging. Meet with a tutor to strengthen your understanding of concepts, prepare for exams, and learn effective study strategies for your discipline. Tutors have been recommended by faculty and trained to guide you throughout the learning process.

How to Access Content Tutoring

While we do accept walk-ins when possible, appointments are highly encouraged to ensure a tutor is available when you need it. Tutors are available in-person and over Zoom.

Study Skills and Time Management

Tutoring Services offers coaching in general study skills and time management. To arrange a session, please contact the Tutoring Services Manager, Cristina Ariza, at (210) 283-5020 or mariza@uiwtx.edu.

Need help after hours? Can’t find a time with us that works? We recommend Smarthinking, an online tutoring service available to all UIW students, 24/7. You can add Smarthinking to your Cardinal Apps (pdf) and access it there.
