Academic Wellness

Academic Wellness is not a concept students think about often. Academic wellness, however, is necessary for the college journey. If students do not maintain their Grade Point Average (GPA) it may impact scholarships, grants, and their status as a UIW student. It’s important to ensure the necessary steps are taken to maintain a healthy GPA. UIW offers resources to help students support their academic success. Below you will find tips and resources to help you navigate your academic journey.

Be Proactive

Tutoring

Not understanding a certain concept, feeling lost on your homework assignment, or needing help with an essay? UIW offers tutoring services to meet students where they are. Students can sign up for tutoring services through Cardinal Apps or in person at the below locations.

Career Services

Not connecting to your major and wanting to explore other options? Connect with Career Services! The Career Services team can assess student’s strengths and interests to provide a portfolio of major and career options.

Faculty

Faculty maintain office hours specifically meant for meeting with students outside the classroom to offer support throughout the semester. Students often do not take advantage of meeting with their professors; however, it is a great opportunity to discuss academic progress, clarify class concepts, or simply connect over course material. Office hours and location can be found in the class syllabus.

Take Charge

UIW offers several resources for students to utilize to ensure they are on track to degree completion.

Degree Works

Degree Works is a web-based tool to help students monitor their progress toward degree completion. Degree Works lists the courses students have completed and that count toward degree requirements, as well as what courses and requirements are still needed for degree completion. Degree Works can be accessed through Cardinal Apps.

Navigate

Is your schedule not working and you need to meet with an advisor? Open Navigate in Cardinal Apps to easily schedule an appointment with your academic advisor.
