I am pleased to share that UIW is beginning work on a classification and compensation study for staff and
administrative positions. This study and the resulting classification and compensation program is one of the
University’s top priorities.
Our ability to recruit and retain professional talent requires a competitive and equitable compensation program that reflects our culture and work environment. Our compensation program should be internally equitable, externally competitive, regularly updated, easily understood, and financially responsible.
After completing a review of proposals and extensive interviews with several professional consulting firms, the University engaged Segal Consulting (a Human Resources consulting firm that is nationally recognized in Higher Education) to assist with this project.
We will work with Segal Consulting, to review the current classification structure and practices as well as the existing compensation policies and procedures. Our work will lead to the development of a revised job structure and identification of career ladders as well as a competitive market assessment. The scope of this project does not include insurance or retirement benefits, various paid leaves of absence, or other pay-related policies.
We anticipate the project to be completed around the Fall 2024 timeframe.
We will provide periodic updates regarding the status of the project work through designated channels such as a website, email updates, and newsletters.
We look forward to your support and to an outcome that reflects the University’s commitment to recruiting and supporting the excellence of our staff and administrator employees.
