If you are having a crisis situation, please call our office at (210) 832-5656 during business hours or come to the office. If you or anyone you know is injured or in imminent danger, please call University Police or 911 for emergency medical assistance. Additional resources are list on the “Resources” tab.
Yes. Setting up an appointment is easy. You can call visit our Behavioral Health Forms tab and complete the paperwork. You will then send the completed paperwork to the Behavioral Health Services email and someone will be in touch with you within 48 business hours to start the scheduling process.
Please contact our front desk staff directly to make, cancel, and reschedule appointments. Please provide appointment cancellation notice at least 24 hours in advance so we can make that spot available to another student. If you ask to reschedule, it may be a week or more before your counselor can fit you into his or her schedule. Please note that if you are 18 or above, other people cannot make appointments on your behalf.

We are currently not available on weekends, but we are happy to refer you to a counselor who is. We also invite you to contact any of the numbers of the resources on our webpage for assistance on the weekends.
We will will do reminder calls and texts prior to every scheduled appointment. However, we suggest that you set and email or calendar reminder on your phone so that you don’t forget.
Students who are enrolled at the University of the Incarnate Word or one of its affiliate high schools, and who are attending classes, and are physically in the state of Texas, are eligible for counseling services.
