In individual therapy, you work one-on-one with a counselor to address your concerns. Our counselors are trained to provide the support and space to be a source of support and understanding, and they will help you explore your options and develop effective strategies to cope with your concerns.
Concerns often arise in relationships. Couples therapy is offered to students whose presenting concerns would best be addressed with both members of that relationship present. It is up to the student(s) what constitutes a couple, and all couples are welcome to utilize this service as long as one member of the couple is currently enrolled as a UIW student. To make an initial consultation for couples therapy, please go to our website and complete intake paperwork and we will schedule a time when both members of the relationship can be present.
Group therapy is the treatment of choice for many concerns, especially for individuals whose distress is related to their social, family, or romantic relationships.
Behavioral Health staff members provide presentations, workshops, and consultation to students, faculty, and staff at UIW.
UIW Behavioral Health Services can provide mediation and behavior management coaching for UIW faculty, staff, and administrators.
Mediation is a service that attempts to establish communication between people having disputes and assists them in finding a mutually acceptable solution.
UIW Behavioral Health Services can provide assessments for students regarding mental and/or behavioral health concerns.
