UIW Move-In

The Department of Residence Life and Housing Operations is preparing for your arrival to campus! For first time students moving away from home, Move-In Day can be filled with excitement at meeting your roommate, decorating your room, and exploring all that our beautiful campus has to offer. For our upperclassmen, Move-In Day often feels like returning home. We will maintain all important and necessary Move-In Day information on this portion of our website. Think of this as your one-stop shop to prepare for that exciting day!

Our Process

  1. After arriving to campus, you will first stop in and receive your initial screening.
  2. You may complete your screening prior to arriving as long as you take and accurately report your temperature using this Cardinal Daily Health Check form.  Keep the e-mail you receive handy to show when you enter campus.
  3. Once you are clear, please follow the signs to our Station 1 Check Point, located at the corner of Agnese Residence Hall and the Nursing Building.
  4. Please note that all Residence Life paperwork must be completed prior to receiving clearance. This paperwork includes:
  5. You will be directed to follow a specific path. Please follow the instructions and signs for a smooth check-in.
  6. When you are clear to check in, you will proceed to the Agnese Parking Garage or Dubuis Parking Lot.
  7. Please wait in your vehicle for a text from a Department staff member, who will instruct you on where to go next within the Student Engagement center. To support a healthy and safe Cardinal Community, we ask that only the student enter the Student Engagement Center. Please make sure you are wearing a mask when you enter the building!
  8. Residents will receive two wrist bands.  One wrist band will be for the student to keep on during the move in week. The second wrist band will be for their helper.  To support a healthy and safe Cardinal Community, the wrist band cannot be transferred between helpers.
  9. The designated helper will be able to assist you with bringing items up to your room and help set the room. Please note that your designated helper must be 18 years of age or older.
  10. Please note that our elevator occupancy is two people for move: you and your helper.
  11. At all times, we ask that everyone wear a mask and practice safe physical distancing.

It is very important that you maintain your 15 minute check-in reservation slot and that you have completed all necessary steps and processes. In the event you do not believe you will make your check-in reservation, please e-mail our department at We look forward to welcoming you to campus and seeing you Take Flight!
