Staff Services
Open
- Currently employees must use their employee ID to check out materials from the UIW Libraries.
- UIW employees (UIW and SACHS) may borrow eight books for three weeks.
- Employees may borrow three audiovisual items for 7 days (multi-part titles are counted separately).
- You can also participate the library’s interlibrary loan program and in the TexShare program. For more information click on Borrowing From Other Libraries
Alumni Services
Open
- Alumni must obtain a UIW Alumni ID Card from the Alumni Office.
- Bring the card to the library so the Circulation Desk staff can create a library account in the management system. This card is used to check out materials.
- Alumni may borrow books for three weeks.
- Alumni may not borrow audiovisual items.
- Circulation Policy
- Alumni have access to the guest computers (standup computer stations) or use the wireless guest access to access the Internet (no username or password is required)
- Use of the library’s public areas for quiet study.
- Reference assistance secondary to UIW student and faculty needs.
- Printing, copying or scanning is not available because network access is required.
Visitor Services
Open
Visitors are welcome at the UIW Libraries during designated hours. All visitors must check in at the Circulation Desk.
- Visitor privileges include:
- In-library use of resources located in the Reference and the Circulating collections.
- Borrowing books using a TexShare card.
- Use of guest computers (standup computer stations) in the Computer Research Area, room 110.
- Access to the guest wireless network.
- Printing, copying and scanning is not available to visitors because network credentials are required to use UIW Print system.
- Use of the library’s public areas for quiet study.
- Reference assistance secondary to UIW student and faculty needs.
- Visitors’ time in the library is limited to certain hours of the day. Please call 210-829-3836 or ask at the Circulation Desk to confirm visitor closing times for the day of your visit.
