Press Coverage

Sharing the many positive accomplishments of our faculty, staff, students and institution through the media is a critical part of the University's communication efforts. The Office of Communications and Brand Marketing does this in various ways. Please share your stories with us so that we may share those stories through the media, the newsletter or social media.

A media alert, an abbreviated version of a press release, is used to alert the media of an upcoming timely event or of breaking news on the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word. Media alerts include the key points of the news in question – the Who, What, When, Where and Why.

The Office of Communications and Brand Marketing maintains a database of key media contacts who receive its media alerts. Please note, distribution of a media alert does not guarantee earned media.

If you would like to have a media alert distributed for an upcoming event or announcement, please fill out the form linked below. Submission does not guarantee that a media alert will be written and distributed. The Office of Communications and Brand Marketing will work with you to determine the best platform for distributing your announcement (community newsletter, social media, media alert, etc.).
