Benefits Open Enrollment

Benefits Open Enrollment - April 16 - April 28, 2024

During open enrollment, employees are permitted to make changes to their current medical, vision, and dental insurance to include adding, dropping, or switching between plans.

What is Staying the Same:

  • UIW will maintain the current medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • UIW Bronze medical, dental, and vision premiums will remain the same.
  • Medical subsidies will continue for those earning below $48,000.
  • MetLife will continue as our vendor for Vision coverage and premiums will remain the same.
  • Proficient Flex Spending and Aflac supplemental insurance will continue.
  • Grandfather status will continue under the ACA.
  • Mutual of Omaha will continue to be our life insurance and AD&D carrier.
  • HealthComp will remain our TPA (Third Party Administrator)

What is Changing:


  • A new pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) will replace MC-Rx/EHIM (Employee Health Insurance Management). The new PBM will be Rx Benefits.
  • Flexible Spending IRS limits for the medical spending account increased to $3,200 from $3,050.
  • The UIW Silver plan will have an increase.

What Should You Do:

Review the Benefit Open Enrollment News for additional information concerning rates and the 2024-2025 Benefits Overview Booklet.

You must enroll or waive benefits during Benefits Open Enrollment, April 16 – April 28, 2024. Elections will not automatically roll over from last year.

Plans Offered

Short Term Disability

If you have an off the job accident or illness and can’t come to work, how will you keep paying your bills? Aflac’s short term disability policy will pay benefits directly to you.

Cancer

Did you know 66% of cancer expenses are not medical expenses? Aflac’s cancer plan can help when you need to focus on getting better, not what it costs

Critical Care

Aflac’s Critical Care Protection policy helps provide financial peace of mind if you experience a serious health event, such as a heart attack or stroke.

Hospital

Deductibles and out of pocket expenses can be scary at a time when you need to focus on care. Aflac’s hospital plan has a lump sum benefit for inpatient services, a short stay benefit and an emergency room benefit.

Accident

Accident’s happen! The accident plan pays benefits directly to you if you have an accident – on or off the job!

Plus Rider

Pays a $5000 benefit upon diagnosis of heart attack, stroke, type 1 Diabetes, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, MS and a number of other major medical events.
