What Is Microsoft Stream?

Microsoft Stream is the integrated video player within the Microsoft ecosystem. Videos uploaded to OneDrive or shared across Microsoft 365 applications (including SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook) are played using the Stream player. This integration provides access to features such as automatic transcription, chapters, comments, custom descriptions and thumbnails, as well as interactive elements like forms and annotations.

What Is Microsoft Access?

Microsoft Access is a powerful database management tool that allows users to create business applications easily, either from templates or from scratch. With its user-friendly design tools, Access enables the quick creation of attractive and functional applications while efficiently analyzing large datasets.

Microsoft Access is available only as a downloadable desktop app for Windows devices, and there is no online or mobile version. Additionally, a downloadable version for macOS is not available.

What is Microsoft Bookings?

Microsoft Bookings allows you to manage your appointment timeslots and share your availability with others. You can create different types of meetings and share the link with anyone to schedule a convenient time and eliminate the back-and-forth frustration that comes with scheduling time to meet.

Microsoft Bookings can be found within the Cardinal Apps portal. If you are part-time, Bookings is only available upon request, contact the UIW Help Desk to request the app. Microsoft Bookings is split up into two products; Personal and Shared Bookings. Each has its ideal use case, as outlined below.

A Personal Bookings page is designed for individuals and is perfect for scheduling one-on-one meetings such as office hours, meetings, training, help sessions, etc.

What is Microsoft Forms?

Microsoft Forms is an online tool allowing users to create surveys, quizzes, and polls easily. You can invite others to respond using any web browser or mobile device, and view real-time results as they are submitted. The built-in analytics help evaluate responses, and you can export results to Excel for further analysis or grading.

What is Microsoft Loop?

Microsoft Loop is a collaborative workspace designed to enhance teamwork by making it easy to share and organize content in real time. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 apps to enable flexible, real-time collaboration on projects, notes, and tasks. Great for group projects, brainstorming, and organizing classroom activities. Loop’s components and pages are editable by all team members, ensuring everyone stays aligned and productive.

Loop is an online-only tool, but changes made offline through the mobile app are kept on the device until it connects to the internet again.
