The University of the Incarnate Word values diverse experiences and perspectives and strives to fully include everyone who engages with UIW. Inaccessible information technology (IT) negatively impacts people with a variety of disabilities, including mobility/orthopedic impairments, sensory impairments, specific learning disabilities, attention deficits, autism spectrum disorders, speech impairments, health impairments, and psychiatric conditions.
While the links below will direct you toward some helpful resources, you don't need permission to make your instruction accessible. Contact the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology to work with a professional and receive advice and tools on making your instruction accessible.

Accessibility at UIW
Not every learner processes information in the same manner. To qualify for Accommodation Services, the student must provide the Office of Student Disability Services with the appropriate documentation of his or her disability at the time services and/or accommodations are requested.
