Facilities and Map
The graduation experience is important to everyone at UIW and, regardless of the facility, we make every effort to ensure that the ambiance and setting are appropriate for the event. The size of the graduating class determines the venue selected to hold the graduation ceremony. To ensure students receive the maximum number of Commencement tickets for their family members to attend the ceremony, we may, by necessity, hold the Commencement ceremony off campus. However, in doing so, we will replicate the on-campus experience as much as possible.
Driving directions
Convocation Center
The Convocation Center is the gymnasium used for athletic and social events. It is located on the back of the campus, across the bridge, adjacent to the Natatorium and in front of the softball diamond. From 281 take the Hildebrand exit and turn east on to Hildebrand. Drive east on Hildebrand until you reach the first intersection to the campus (there will be a traffic signal). Turn left onto the campus and immediately turn left again.. Follow the street, turning right at the dead-end. You will come to a stop sign in front of the parking garage. Cross the bridge in front of you and follow the street until you see a large building on your right (the Natatorium) and a large building in front of you (the Convocation Center).
Freeman Coliseum
The Freeman Coliseum is located at 3201 E. Houston Street, San Antonio, TX. From IH-35, take the AT&T Center Parkway exit and drive south to Houston Street. From IH-10, take the East Houston Street exit and drive west to the Coliseum.
